Commercial laser engraving: the key facts

Precision Cutworks provides laser engraving for businesses and individuals, marking logos, text, numbering and artwork onto acrylic, wood, plywood, MDF, slate and approved customer-supplied items. Work ranges from single pieces to batch and repeat orders, including white-label work for trade customers.

What is commercial laser engraving?

A laser removes a thin layer of a material’s surface to mark it permanently with your design. There are no inks to fade, and each item in a batch is engraved from the same digital artwork.

Who is it for?

Businesses branding products or merchandise, retailers personalising stock, sign makers, event and marketing companies, organisations ordering awards or plaques, and individuals.

Which materials can be engraved?

Acrylic (including mirror acrylic), wood, plywood, MDF, slate and selected plastics, plus suitable items you supply. See Materials & Capabilities.

What applications are supported?

Logo branding, product personalisation, labels and nameplates, numbering and identification, awards and plaques, signage and corporate gifts.

Do you engrave one-off items?

Yes. We welcome one-off pieces and prototypes as well as larger orders.

Do you engrave in bulk?

Yes. See Bulk & Batch Engraving for larger quantities and repeat orders.

Can you engrave products I supply?

Often, yes. We check every supplied item first: the material must be laser-compatible, and the item must fit in the machine and be held securely. Tell us what the item is, what it is made from and how many you have. See Customer-Supplied Materials.

Which artwork formats do you accept?

Vector files (SVG, PDF, AI or DXF) give the sharpest results for logos and text. PNG and JPG files can be used for photographs and raster images, or as a reference if you need artwork preparation.

How is engraving priced?

Engraving is quoted per job. The price depends on the engraved area and detail, the quantity, how items are positioned in the machine, whether we supply the material, and delivery. See Quotation & Payment Terms.

How do I request a quotation?

Use our quote request form to send your requirements, quantities and artwork files. We review every enquiry and reply with a tailored quotation or any questions we have.

Engraving for business

Permanent marking, consistent across every item

Laser engraving gives a clean, permanent finish that suits branding, identification and personalisation. Your artwork is engraved directly from a digital file, so it is reproduced the same way on every item.

The finish depends on the material. Wood and MDF darken where engraved, cast acrylic turns a frosted white, and slate engraves to a lighter grey. We’ll explain what to expect for your material when we quote.

For products you supply, we check the material and how each item can be positioned before we accept the job. On larger orders we may suggest a sample first so you can approve the result.

  • PermanentNo inks or labels to wear off.
  • ConsistentEvery item is engraved from the same approved artwork.
  • Variable dataNames, numbers or codes can be changed item by item. Supply a list with your order.
