Acrylic laser cutting
Custom acrylic shapes, components, signage and display pieces cut to your design, from a single piece to repeat production runs.
At a glance
Precision Cutworks laser cuts and engraves acrylic sheet, including clear, coloured, frosted and mirror acrylic, to customers’ designs. Typical work includes signage, displays, custom components, product parts and decorative pieces. We cut one-off pieces as well as batch and repeat orders, and deliver across the UK from our workshop near Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Cutting acrylic (PMMA) sheet into custom shapes with a laser that follows your vector design. Laser-cut acrylic edges are typically smooth and glossy, so parts often need no further edge finishing.

Clear, coloured, frosted and mirror acrylic sheet. Available colours, finishes and thicknesses are confirmed when we quote.
Signs and lettering, displays and stands, product components, covers and panels, awards and plaques, and decorative pieces.

Yes. Tell us the type (cast or extruded), colour and thickness, and we’ll confirm it’s right for your project before we start. See Customer-Supplied Materials.
For cutting, we need vector artwork: SVG, DXF, PDF or AI files drawn at 1:1 scale in millimetres. PNG and JPG files are suitable for engraving photographs and raster images, or as a reference if you need help preparing artwork.
Every job is quoted individually. The price depends on the material and its thickness, the size of the parts, the quantity, the complexity of the design (which affects machine time), any engraving and delivery. See Quotation & Payment Terms.

Cutting acrylic
Acrylic is one of the most popular materials for laser cutting. The laser leaves a smooth edge and can produce fine detail, making it well suited to signage, displays and visible product parts.
There are two main types of acrylic sheet. Cast acrylic engraves with a bright, frosted finish and is usually preferred for engraved work. Extruded acrylic gives a less contrasting engraved finish but is often chosen for cut-only parts. If you’re not sure which you need, we’ll recommend one when we quote.
Mirror acrylic can be cut and engraved too. Engraving the reverse of a mirror sheet removes the backing so the design shows through the mirrored face.
